The

rather than silicone or saline implants employs fat suctioned from the

size of the breast, or to fill in defects or abnormalities in existing breasts.

Currently,
fat transfer to the breast is considered an option for women who want to
improve the appearance of their breasts whether it is to enlarge or to lift sagging tired breasts. Lipoaugmentation is also a great way to repair implant-related issues
like rippling, wrinkling, and can also be used to soften the
overall look of existing breast implants by
"blurring" the line between implant and breast tissue. Potential
candidates must also have adequate fat harvesting sites on their body.
Fat Transfer to the Breast: The
Procedure
Fat
transfer to the breast involves two distinct procedures: harvesting and
injecting.
The fat cells are acquired through liposuction. Once
harvested through a syringe, the cells are processed for transplantation. This
involves removing anesthetics, lipids and medical fluids from the fat. The goal
is to obtain healthy fat cells devoid of other tissue, which increases the
likelihood of successful cell transfer and reduces the chances of injecting
unwanted substances with the fat. The healthier and more pure the injected
material, the greater the yield of viable fat cells.
After
processing, the fat cells are carefully injected. These injections are very small and precise in their positioning. There are a few areas that the injections can be made, your doctor will decide the best action according to the specific needs of your body. The injections can be made in the space between the skin and the breast capsule surrounding
the breast and/or behind the breast between the breast and chest wall. This meticulous
technique enables our plastic surgeon to sculpt the breasts as desired.
Breast shaping andaugmentation with fat grafting provides a more natural aesthetic result for
patients. It is also more natural for your body with no chance of rejection, for instance,
an implant. The placement of the fat grafts allows
for dramatic or subtle shaping of the breast in a manner previously not
attainable. This type of shaping is extremely difficult, time consuming and impossible with
implants or surgery. The result is a natural appearing reshaped breast in which
telltale signs of implants and surgery are absent - the resultant breast is completely fluid and natural appearing.
